What a year – 2020!

This time last year, as we turned towards 2020, we were looking forward to a great year ahead with so many weddings, corporate events, whisky launches, film shoots and celebrations.  The diary was almost full throughout the main season and we were still taking bookings out of season. By March we were all in lockdown taking heart-breaking calls from brides and grooms and rescheduling all our weddings and events. We are so grateful to all our couples, wedding planners and event organisers for working with us on this and we were delighted to be able to reschedule all but two of our weddings/events.

We were also delighted to work alongside the Ballifeary Community, supplying meals and boxes of groceries throughout the lockdown to many elderly people in the community and were pleased to become a sponsor of Mikeysline charity, supporting the great work the team are doing in the Highlands.

We also turned our attention to some opportunities to diversify. Having a reputation for delivering great events in the Highlands for almost 17 years, our first priority was to think creatively! We launched Highland Experiences which offers visitors and locals a true taste of traditional and contemporary Highland culture, arts, history and nature by offering bespoke cultural and foodie experiences throughout the Highlands. During the summer months, deliveries from our Gourmet Meal Menus were a huge hit and it was great to see so many of our wedding couples, friends and colleagues return to support us – thank you!

The year end was very busy as we launched At Home with Good Highland Food (Covid restrictions apply), which offers up a brand-new private dining experience in Inverness-shire. Our ethos is to deliver the finest Highland food and hospitality in a gorgeous setting in Moy – either in our plush lounge and dining area or outside on our beautifully lit and heated terrace. We’ll even come and pick you up and take you home again in our dedicated vehicle (15-mile radius of Inverness). Guests can choose from a variety of dining experiences suited to any occasion from fun Posh Pizza & Prosecco afternoons on our partially covered outdoor terrace to an intimate Fine Dining Dinner and Cheese & Wine Nights in our newly refurbished lounge and dining room.

And we finalised our business plan for the launch of Luxury Highlands with Good Highland Food – a new Tour Operator / Private Concierge Service we are launching early in 2021 – with partners including Ardross Castle and Glentruim Estate – as well as many other Luxury Highland properties-More details on this coming soon!

Christmas Dinner Deliveries, anniversaries and festive celebrations have kept us really busy over the past few weeks too.

As we look back on the year, it’s been a tough one, but it’s been positive in many ways too. Most importantly we have felt a real sense of community in the Highlands – both business and wider. Our main message to all our customers during this difficult time is if we can help we will.

Keep safe and wishing you all a healthy and happy 2021!
